Our June Journey thus far...

Happy June to you!

We have been slowly easing into the summer over here. By "slow," I mean slowing down with the intention of reprioritizing and focusing on intentional growth for BWB. Sometimes a break is everything we need to take stock of how to move forward, and how we want to approach/navigate the ebbs and flows of entrepreneurship.

We've taken our own advice and started reconnecting with folks in our communities to see how they're doing. It is rare that schedules are open and spacious to connect. With no other purpose than to...connect. Through our conversations we've learned that many are experiencing similar slow downs. What are the opportunities and upsides in the slowness, and how can we reframe the perspective around slowness in general? For us, the gift of time has allowed us to work on some behind-the-scenes stuff. We've written Medium articles and BWB newsletters, planned our upcoming Storytelling workshop, brainstormed our Fall Retreat (dates TBD!) and finished up a few really cool projects to help our clients tell their stories (read on to see a few client snapshots).

Over the last few months, we've also been really interested in exploring our Enneagram types, and how they contribute to understanding our internal motivations and can help us relate to the things outside of us. At our retreat in April, Stephanie Schott led an Enneagram workshop for us to understand our types, and how that impacts our leadership and entrepreneurship styles. [Side note: don't forget to check out our interview with Stephanie on the Questions to Hold podcast].

We dove into the Enneagram further with Maren Gauldin, an Enneagram coach, to understand how our types play into our partnership style (Casey + Cait). We've been holding the curiosity around how to understand ourselves and our partnership, and ways this can help us become better listeners, leaders, and entrepreneurs. Maren runs Seeds to Wholeness, which is at the intersection of coaching, consulting, and organizational development.

It turns out that we are both 7s, or, the Enthusiastic Visionary. This explains so much about how we work together, and our work styles in general. We bring and create lots of ideas and have an optimistic approach to life. Learning more about this made us realize what a valuable communications tool the Enneagram can be, and how we can harness these lessons personally and as business owners. It is absolutely fascinating and incredibly valuable to understand our relationships through the Enneagram lens. Spoiler alert: BWB will be offering this as part of our coaching and midwifery work in the near future, so stay tuned for more news around that.

If you want to let us know how you're doing (or want to share your Enneagram experience), give us a shout.

Lots of love,
C&C

One of our favorite things to do is storytell in a unique way. Check out three examples below of how we've helped clients authentically tell their stories.

BWB worked with the WORKHORSE Global team to redesign their website (and yes, Candyland was our inspiration!). With such a fun and visual vibe, we did not want to include text-heavy bios that didn't match the overall look and feel. We also wanted the team bios to represent who their team really is, and give their clients a way to connect with them in a natural way. Enter: the idea to capture and showcase the team's personalities through outlining their pets, and their favorite/ideal day.

hunterblu is one of our absolute favorites! Partners, Jessica Blumberg and David Hunter, have successfully grown their company over the last five years, and brought on BWB to up level their design and build their new website. We created visual profiles to introduce their ever-growing team in a refreshing, visual, and fun way. We invite you to check it out and play around!

Birth Realm founder, Jackie Davey, has built a company with a vision to reimagine postpartum care: "We are a doula-led, mama-run company that meets the needs of expecting families from conception through the first year of parenthood." BWB was brought on for the Birth Realm strategic rebrand, and wanted a way to present the team, showcase each of their unique skillsets, and uphold the Birth Realm model of care. Check out how the website is helping truly introduce Jackie and the team!
