BWB Retreat Reflections + Words Matter

Hi friends,

We are fresh off the BWB Retreat, and had an absolutely amazing experience at Ellingwood. It was more than we could have even imagined, bringing together seven folks from around the country, with beautiful weather, accommodations and nourishment all around. It felt restful, it felt creative, it felt full, and honestly...exciting. We left feeling in our element and full of hope for the future and the collective.

It reminded us that simplicity and spaciousness are key. No need to pack the days full. Let them feel open. Let the inspiration come from all different places.

Telling and sharing our stories was a central theme to our time together. We offered a prompt to go back to our earliest memories, and tell a story that had not been told before. We asked: How is your life's work connected to some of our earliest memorable moments?

This question was the perfect segue into Career Week at Casey's kiddo's school. Folks were invited into the classroom to share about their work, and Casey had the opportunity to speak about entrepreneurship, and how to take an idea and make a positive impact in the community. And let us just say - those 1st graders were super entrepreneurial! They had big visions for their life's work, and how they can benefit the world.

If you're ready to get more intentional with your storytelling and reach new audiences, we're hosting a two-part storytelling workshop on June 5th & 6th, and we'd love for you to be there. Read on for more deets.

Lots of love,
C&C

In this two-part workshop series, we're breaking down the basics of telling your story.

Our focus is on local, service-based small businesses who have the most to gain from simple, efficient, and effective storytelling. We will dive into the science and substance of our words, and budget-friendly ways to get discovered and reach new audiences.

We'll identify misalignments in our communications, untangle the seemingly endless sea of platforms, and get targeted with our efforts, messaging, and storytelling.

During our workshops, we will explore:

  • listening to the story your business is telling

  • your relationship to your story and messaging

  • the importance of keywords and tagging

  • fostering relationships with local media

  • optimizing your online profiles

  • prioritization based on our energy levels

We will host this series in a small, intimate container (up to 4 folks per group) on Zoom with each session running 90-minutes:

  • Wednesday, June 5th (1-2:30 EST)

  • Thursday, June 6th (1-2:30 EST)

The investment is $350.

YOUR BUSINESS IS ASKING YOU QUESTIONS

Casey was recently interviewed on Britten LaRue's Moon to Moon podcast talking about BWB's Questions to Hold practice, and how to be in ongoing dialogue and inquiry with your business as a central growth activity.

"In this conversation, we talk about weaving one's mysticism with one's business strategy and how these do not have to be compartmentalized parts of us. We get into the magic and the complicated history of brands and branding. We explore the disruptive power of questions, and Casey offers some potent questions to bring to your business right now."

Thank you to Britten for having us! And don't forget to check out her new book, Living Astrology, where she brings questions into each chapter.

WORKHORSE was looking for a new way to showcase their products in an interactive, and visual way. We've took their "candy land" vision and brought it to life on their website through photography, design, and build. We love how this site came together and invite you to take a visit!

BWB developed the brand strategy, visual identity, and custom, hand drawn art for The Perrin House Project, a community space in Lafayette, Indiana.

Built on principles of sustainability and celebrating local culture, the project has the potential to foster a strong community spirit, while honoring what makes Lafayette special.

Standing since the late 1860’s on Kiikaapoi land, the house has been cared for and inhabited by numerous businesses and caretakers. Launching in 2025 to celebrate Lafayette's 200 year anniversary, The Perrin House is turning a page and looking to the next generation.

BWB co-hosted the first Community at Coray event at Coray Kitchen with Nine Mile Farm, focused on Edible Flowers.

The event sold out with 30 people gathered around a communal table to connect and explore new food territory. We facilitated conversation with a few potent questions that guests found on the back of their coasters, as a way to meet someone new across the table, and dig deeper into the meaning of the meal.

It was such a hit and we loved the opportunity to meet more people in the area. Keep up with Coray on the Instagram page + check out future events on the website.
