30 Days of Action

woman gesturing on stage saying the below quote

“Part of the essence of feminism is that women have control over women's bodies.”

The news of Roe v. Wade being overturned has outraged, but not surprised, us. We deserve dignity and autonomy over our bodies. We will not sit idly by as our rights are ripped away, and others make decisions on our behalves.

The attack on this right is inextricably bound to the other human rights and bodies under attack, and must be taken on comprehensively. We can do so much better. We will do so much better.

We are embarking on 30 days of action for change. Check out our list of daily actions below. Join us by borrowing ours or making your own!

In love and solidarity,

30 Days of Action

  • Turn off the news to rest and protect my energy

  • Look in the mirror and love my body

  • Dance, sing, and feel joy

  • Reach out to a person who has positively influenced me on my journey of unlearning to thank them

  • Research and follow at least 2 youth leaders making change for our human rights, and share their work

  • Tell the story of my choice to have (or not have) children to one trusted person

  • Remind someone that Roe v Wade is about people of every gender

  • Donate to Planned Parenthood

  • Research opportunities to volunteer or get involved with Planned Parenthood

  • Connect with my ancestors and ask for their support in the journey

  • Follow reproductive justice leaders online (and share, subscribe to, and support them!)

  • Educate myself further and stay current on the latest updates by reading more articles and opinion pieces, or listening to podcasts and news reports, from various new sources such as the NYT and NPR

  • Write a letter to our clients and collaborators ensuring they know BWB’s position on the issues, and invite them into daily action with us

  • Allow myself to be with - and move through - my emotions with grace and kindness

  • Journal my next 30 days of action

We invite you to share, forward, and add to this list, and want to acknowledge all of the organizations doing important work to fight for our rights. There are many people who have curated resources online so that we can all learn and stay informed. We have linked to all of the sources where we have been gathering information, and ask that if you plan to share any of these articles, please make sure to credit these folks accordingly.

quote from michelle obama (below) and bold woman brands logo

“Our hearts may be broken today, but tomorrow, we've got to get up and find the courage to keep working towards creating the more just America we all deserve. We have so much left to push for, to rally for, to speak for – and I know we can do this together.” -- Michelle Obama
