Affirmation
Boundaries are a hot topic these days, but so often our idea of what boundaries entail is skewed or non-existent. We are lucky to have Katie Stone (she/her), owner of Ubuntu Wellness in Evergreen, CO, guide us into conversation around how we are conditioned to perceive boundaries as walls, when they are actually a framework for deeper love, more aligned relationships, financial abundance, and self-empowerment.
Katie Stone leads women's retreats on the psychospiritual energy of boundaries, and her passion lies in guiding women through the emotional blocks that prevent connection and keep us detached from personal sovereignty.
Boundaries
This Autumn Equinox flow with Sarah Hutcherson (she/her) from Slo Breathworks is for you to drop into your body and let go of the emotions, expectations, “shoulds,” and worries all swirling in your mind.
Let this flow help you surrender what is to come to nurture you so you can show up as you want to be. You will be called to visualize the steadiness of a tree and use your breath to connect your inner strength by letting go. May you complete this flow relaxed and lighter, grounded in your inner strength.
Techniques used: breath awareness, nostril breathing, and pushed lip breathing. As always, listen to your body. If you feel lightheaded or dizzy, stop the flow.
Sarah founded Slō Breathworks in response to a personal experience with an infection of SARS-CoV-2, which not-so-gently reminded her of how temporarily able-bodied we are. In these moments, she craved the freedom that resides in breathing slowly and deeply. When she came up against her entrenched perfectionism after going to the ER—no Sarah, your body is not a machine—she weighed her choices: breathe slowly into her real and vulnerable self or stay small, believing that shallow breaths rooted in saviorism were it. She chose to take up space and breathe. She wishes she made that choice before breaking her body down in that way and while she can’t go back in time, she can share the gift of breath through Slō Breathworks.
