March thoughts, including celebrating Women’s History Month
Hello everyone,
Women’s History Month. That time of every year where we struggle to come up with the words to share. There’s so much we want to say and even more we want to do. Last year, we shared the recognition that there are many layers and complexities of what this really means. Who is getting left out or not being recognized?
It can feel hard to find our words - especially when women are being disempowered, our rights are being stripped, and our voices are quieted. However, there is one thing we know to be true: we created BWB to uplift and support women. We celebrate and honor this everyday.
There are SO many amazing ways we can recognize women:
BELIEVE (in) women
LISTEN to women when they tell you how they feel and what they need
SUPPORT initiatives that uplift women and the issues you care about
CHECK ON women and make sure the people in your life and community know you love them and are there for them
LEARN from (and about!) women. We love this website (and it has somehow, surprisingly not been taken down yet in the government purge). Think of all the people behind this phenomenal resource who have brought together these amazing stories and examples of triumph
REMEMBER the intersecting identities that women have, and how that impacts the layers of reality we experience
BUY from women and women-owned companies that are also committed to supporting a more just and inclusive world (and absolutely not from Amazon)
This is not a time to get stuck.
We commit to women every day and that’s not going to change. We’ll keep putting one foot in front of the other, and continue to be a business dedicated to gender equality, female entrepreneurship, and new economic realities.
If you want to join a group of women exploring how to bring our stories to the forefront, consider adding your voice to our Enneagram workshop next Wednesday. We have a few spots left and would love to include you.
We’re also planning our Deep Rest Retreat in October. In-person! Live! In Nature! At a beautiful place! With the luxuries we all need and deserve! Come!
I guess we found the words after all. Thank you for coming to our TED Talk.
